A step by step guide to the Financial Markets

Have you ever wanted to invest in the stock market but didn't know where or how to start? Or do you want to start trading CFD's?  Well, you have landed on the right page. With more than 25 years of experience in the stock market, we have learned from the mistakes of others so that you don't have to.

Step 1: Understand the difference between equity (shares) and CFD's.

When you buy a share, you own the actual share, you become a shareholder. When you trade CFD's you "rent" the share or underlying instrument (gold/oil). There are massive risks involved when trading CFD's and we do suggest you watch this video below to understand the risks as well as some important lingo when trading CFD's or any derivative.

STEP 2: Open an equity account.

You will automatically get a TFSA (tax-free savings account) as well as a Demo account. The Demo account will allow you to 'play' with the platform until you are comfortable enough to put some real money in. Keep in mind with this platform you would only trade at market price (best bid or offer on the exchange) and would not be able to enter an order at a Specific price. Open an account now.

STEP 2: OR....Open a CFD trading account.

Now that you have watched the video above and know how to determine your position size and understand the risks, open a CFD trading account today. Trading instruments include: Commodities, Forex, Indicies and CFD's. Don't forget to send us an email at [email protected], once your account is open, because we have a FREE training video on how to navigate the GT platform and graphs.

Step 3: Watch this short video to see how to navigate the graphs platform

Keep in mind we only want you to use the graphs. We do not recommend opening a trading account with their suggestions. The companies listed there are not in South Africa. You want to use a registered FSP and a DMA (direct market access broker) and NOT market makers.
